Susan Bednarczyk

My freelance career has centered around New York, but I’ve also worked on site in offices across the United States and London. Recently, I've relocated to Santa Fe.

I’ve been fortunate to enjoy very long-term working relationships with people who need added communications firepower in their organization. I work as easily with high-powered finance executives and thought leaders as I do with artists and creative teams.

I have great interest in how and why people buy, make purchase decisions, and follow trends — innate curiosity that allows me to get readers to connect with what’s on the page of a grant proposal, business proposal, advocacy paper, journal argument, research presentation, or general-readership article.

My most recent work includes web copy development for New York City Emergency Management's 2019 Hazard Mitigation Planning website; social media content for the Type Directors Club in New York; and a NYC-oriented arts and culture blog. My own blog and my work for Type Directors Club both use photos to tell a story and make extensive use embedded videos, slideshows, and digital images.

Other recent clients include US Department of Commerce, Metropolitan Transportation Authority, Cornell NYC Tech, Comcast, and the Society of Vertebrate Paleontology.

I've traveled extensively to remote areas around the globe, spent 27 years volunteering at the American Museum of Natural History, and enjoy looking at the big picture.
